I think that the most important event is when Steven found out that Jeffrey had leukemia. I think it is important because without this ever happening in the book, and then Steven wouldn't be nicer or treat him better. Also Renee would have never become Steven’s friend and he would have let Renee in to his house to study when she had a cold. Then the concert would have never even raised money for Jeffrey and Steven would have never met Samantha. So pretty much the entire book would have never existed. Or the whole book would have just been him living life.

I think the most important is when Samantha said Stay with your brother, Steven. Stay with him no matter what. Do you promise? This is a important because Steven followed this. When Jeffrey got a fever at his concert, he wanted him to go to the hospital with him. He thought about it for a second, remembered the words she said, and went to the hospital with him. He also gave her his drum sticks, and she used them to practice. When she died, he got them back and said he has new "special sticks." She said she wanted him to remember her when he used them.

The most important is....when Samantha passed and wrote a note saying every time you use these pair of sticks think of me; then Steven said that he will call them his 2nd pair of special sticks. This is important because if he wanted to give her some lessons over drums but never got to, and now since she is deceased he now can think of her every time he plays on the drums with those special pair of sticks.
"Samantha had returned my Pro-Mark 5A's with a note, "Thank you for the company, and for the loan. Please think of me when you use these, ok? Love, Sam." Oh God. Now I will always have two pairs of Special Sticks."

This is important because Samantha and Steven were starting to become friends. The fact that he had called his drumsticks, special, shows that he liked her a little more than as a friend.

Steven was living a normal life, but his brother, Jeffrey, was diagnosed with cancer. This changed everything in Stevens' life. Steven didn't do good in school anymore because he was always thinking of Jeffrey. Once word got out about Stevens little brother, everyone knew him and talked to him, trying to make him feel better. They even made a concert into a charity project to raise money for Jeffrey so he could get better treatment. At the end of it, they raised 21,000 dollars to help Jeffery.
Steven was having a normal life, playing the drums and doing school work. Until the day Stevens little brother got cancer. He stopped doing his work at school and gets bad grades. His mom has to go to Philadelphia and Steven has to stay home with his dad, who doesn't talk to him. Renee found out about Jeffreys cancer and told a teacher, and they confronted him.

In the beginning, Steven and his family found out that his brother,Jeffrey, had leukemia. Steven's mom and Jeffrey went to Philadelphia for Jeffrey to get bad treatments. Once they officially found out about Jeff's cancer, Steven stopped caring about school and got bad grades. When Renee' found out about Jeff and his cancer she told Miss Palma who then told all of Steven's teachers. When the teachers found out about Steven and all about what was going on they confronted him about it.
Jeffrey and Steven have a normal sibling relationship. Steven thinks that Jeffrey is annoying, but Jeffrey thinks that Steven is so fun. That all changes when Jeffrey falls off the counter. He gets a nosebleed that's so bad, he has to go to the emergency room. The doctors diagnosed him with leukemia, and he has to go to a hospital in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Steven is having trouble at school. He isn't doing his homework or paying attention in class.

The most interesting event in the book so far was when Jeffrey fell off the counter and his nose started bleeding. Steven’s mom took him to the emergency room, and found out that Jeffrey has leukemia. They were transferred to  a hospital in Philadelphia, and stayed there for about a week. Steven’s mom called every night, but his dad didn’t keep him updated on what was happening. When Jeffrey and Steven’s mom got home, both his parents got into a fight and Jeffrey threw up. Steven helped Jeffrey got ready to take a nap so he would feel better. This has caused Steven to not complete assignments or pay attention in class because Jeffrey is everything to him.
I think that the most exciting or interesting event so far was when everyone found out that Jeffy had gotten cancer, because everything that happened was just so quick. I mean it was Jeffy was on a stool, he fell off the stool, he started bleeding A LOT, his mom took him to the hospital, and he was diagnosed with cancer. It all happened in like 20 or so pages. It is interesting too, because the start of the book doesn’t seem anything at all like Jeffy was going to have cancer. It seemed like a book that was just about a kids every day life.

The most exciting and interesting part in the book is Steven's brother getting leukemia. It put Steven's whole world upside down. Everything was normal, until this happened. He had good grades, and other things like that, but when he got leukemia, he just stopped caring. His grades went down and he didn't really pay attention to his teachers. Also, his parents are very quiet. His dad wouldn't tell Steven about what was happening to Jeffrey, and his mom is very sad about it. Jeffrey himself, can’t eat something as small as a tic tac without throwing up, he has to watch what he eats. He is very weak at sometimes, and can get bruised and hurt easily, but he seems to act normal.

I think most exciting/interesting part so far is when Jeffrey had the fever and had to be rushed to the hospital. It might sound weird on how I think the most exciting is because you are kind of on your toes the whole chapter. Such as, when Steven is at the school dance and all of the sudden his mom rushed with Jeffrey, who was covered in sweat. Another part is when Steven is playing drums and he looks up to he his dad, who hasn't talked to Steven in awhile, watching him play. This might be the anxious part so far in the book!

The setting doesn't affect the mood because the setting is his house and his school. Nothing really goes on in these places. Steven's little brother, Jeffrey affects the mood mostly. Jeffrey annoys Steven at home all the time. There was also a time when Jeffrey had  a nosebleed and Steven was blamed for it. His parents thought that Steven had punched Jeffrey in the face. They wouldn't even talk to him and his name went from "beloved first born" to "that one." This upset him and secretly he was worried about his brother. Through out the whole school day, he was eating tic tacs to calm himself. This  changed the mood from cool and calm to upset and stressful.

The setting in this book doesn’t really affect the mood. The setting is pretty much only at his house and his school, which doesn’t affect the sadness of the story. The thing that affected the mood was Jeffrey, Stevens little brother, he gets cancer, and make the mood sad. This changes Steven, and everything he does like, his homework, his friends, and many other things. If Jeffery didn’t get leukemia, the mood wouldn’t be sad, but he did. And because the setting is only at his house and school, it just keeps it the same because nothing at his school or house really affects what he feels.
Question #2

The setting doesn’t really affect the mood at all. The setting of the book is mostly at school and home, but the main problem is the main character’s brother has cancer. I don’t think that the mood would be any different if the setting was in Kansas or if it was in New York, cancer will make everybody sad no matter where they are. The only way that the setting could possibly make a change in the mood would be if they were somewhere where there wasn’t very good or even any treatment to cancer. Then the mood would change.
The setting doesn't affect the mood of the story that much because the character only goes back and forth between his school and his house. The main thing that affects the mood is mainly changed because of the character Jeffrey's cancer. Jeffrey's cancer affects the mood because one moment everything was so happy and perfect and then the next moment when Jeffrey got diagnosed with cancer the whole world went upside down for the main character,Steven. Even though Steven was not a big fan of his brother he was protective of him. Like one time this one kid was trying to push Jeffrey off a swing, so Steven yelled at the kid to stop until his mom pulled him away. Now that Jeffrey is sick Steven lets Jeffrey play on his drums as long as he doesn't use the special sticks.
